Citizen Science and the Food System
Can citizen science and other forms of participatory research help to generate crucial knowledge about the food system? Dr. Abby Kinchy and I organized a workshop to examine this question by bringing together people who have diverse practical experiences with citizen science on a range of food and farming issues, from seed development to pesticide drift to neighborhood food availability. We hope to inspire participants to find connections between their own projects and the broader agri-food system, so we can collectively develop a citizen science research agenda.
